AFA UPGRADED TO WORKING FIRE

November 28

Just before Noon, Box 49-2 was dispatched to the 2700 Block of Paxton Street for a Commercial Fire Alarm. Chief 91 and Engine 91 (FF Furlong) arrived and met with the tenants of the dispatched business. Crews were notified of smoke from a different part of the building and the assignment was upgraded to the 1st Alarm. November 28

At approximately 0100, Truck 91 was dispatched to the 45-4 (7800 Block of Clearfield St) for "Smoke in a House". Chief 91-5 (Canulli) arrived with smoke showing from Side Alpha, and upgraded the box. Truck 91 (Reinhart) arrived along with Engine 91-5 and crews made entry to the basement. The Truck crew split for inside & outside work. During the morning rush hour in the Capital area, Box 91-4 was dispatched to Interstate 283 in the area of the Swatara Township Building for an MVA w/ Injuries. Chief 91 and Rescue 59 (Lower Swatara) arrived as the first due Rescue (R91-5 working a 1st Alarm Building Fire in Hershey) and advised of 4 trapped. Late this evening, during the monthly company meeting, Truck 91 was requested for a Public Service call, shortly after, the Rescue Company was sent to the 500 Block of Eisenhower Blvd for an MVA with Injuries. November 05

This afternoon, with in house staffing, Engine 91 was dispatched to the 400 Block of Penhar Drive in the 456 Box area for a reported Vehicle Fire. Engine 91 (Reinhart) arrived with a well involved cab of a Tractor Trailer and deployed the bumper line to extinguish the fire. Crews completed overhaul of the vehicle and the box was scaled back. SWATARA PD 5K HERO RUN & BOX ALARM

November 04

This morning, Truck 91 assisted at the Swatara Township Police Department's Annual 5K Hero Run. The township Truck Companies provided a Ladder Arch to display the American Flag. This event draws a large crowd from all over the state which provides funding for various projects within the police department as well as this year donating to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.

No Caption DRILL @ GREENFIELD'S SENIOR LIVING

October 30

This evening, units from Swatara Township Fire-Rescue participated in a full size drill at the Greenfield's Senior Living facility located in the 44-2 Box area. The residents of the area where the "fire" was taking place were advised along with the building manager. No staff were aware of the drill and were to treat it as an actual emergency.
